Concert Date Night at 33 weeks!

To our good fortune, my company had some tickets pop up on Wednesday for the George Strait / Reba / Lee Ann Womack concert at Philip's Arena Thursday night! What??? Seriously??? We could see George and his his friends from the comfort of a box suite with cushioned seats? I was on it!
We had a great time - brought back memories of our first dance at our wedding and our adventurous weekend years ago in Birmingham to see George before we moved to Mississippi. It was so much fun to have a nice date night concert as we near the final weeks of our 3rd trimester. Just under 7 weeks left...or 6 if she's tracking "early" like they say. Makes me laugh to think that, judging by our appt last Friday, our Kins is possibly 5 lbs today...crazy! She loved the concert by the way....technically her first. The music was definitely louder than we play at home or in the car, and that was evident by the amount of constant activity that she had going on throughout the show - I don't think I have ever felt her move more in my belly...ever. I told Philip hopefully this means that she loves music!

Today we are meeting up with friends to go check out Goddard School at their grand opening (hopefully Kinsley and their daughter Abney will be "classmates" and friends), grabbing a group dinner tonight with some friends (we haven't gotten together since New Years Eve!), and then off to our baby shower #2 tomorrow afternoon! This weekend is sure to fly by!

Weekend Getaway!

Philip finally joined the 30-something club with me and turned the big 3-0 on Sunday! To celebrate, we took a little getaway trip up to Hiawassee to stay in Aunt Eileen's mountain house. It was only for a night, but it was much-needed and a time for us to just get away from the house and do nothing but R-E-L-A-X. As we breezed through the 32-week mark on Thursday (and are now well on our way to 33 weeks this week) we realized that this was possibly the last night for a while that we could just take off, just the 2 of us. So off we went, and really enjoyed one another's company. After all, it will be "3" of us in a package deal very soon!
And I will update with another preggers shot shortly! We had a routine OB appt on Friday morning and they think that we are about a week ahead of schedule...and that our little munchkin is already estimated to be at least 17" long and about 4 1/2 lbs...and with her putting on about 1/2 lb a week till delivery, we could have a big healthy baby girl on our hands (taking after her momma and daddy, who were each 8.8 lbs. and 8.6 lbs respectively - and yes, I was bigger than Phil at birth).
She is moving more than ever these days, with long, slow, defined movements as she stretches and moves inside my baby bump (which is resembling more of a "mountain" now). We have also discovered that Kinsley gets the hiccups, and quite often...it's something that I have been waiting to feel for a while now, and love when she gets them...it's too cute! And except for heartburn which plagues me morning and night, some minor backpain, and a little swelling in my feet, I am just relishing the last trimester of this pregnancy...but I still can't wait to meet my little one. I am just trying to be patient above all things and let her keep cooking until she's done! Coming up this week: a wonderful baby shower #2 up on Sunday thrown by some incredible family friends!

Valentine's Weekend

A beautiful white snowfall Friday night.
The most incredible blue skies when we woke up Saturday morning.
The kind you see when you are skiing out West.

Red roses for Valentine's day and a nice dinner out, where we had lots of conversation about our past 10 Valentine's days together, including the memories of our first one together after only 3 weeks of dating one another...

And now, the excitement of what lies ahead for us as we celebrated our last Valentine's weekend as a twosome...lots of love in our hearts for our baby girl who will join us in 60 short days... :)

We can't wait to meet you face-to-face baby girl...we already love you so much - mommy & daddy.

31 Weeks and SNOW!

A few short weeks ago, I blogged about the dusting of snow that Atlanta got one night...but that was nothing compared to this weekend! We were blanketed with a beautiful snow on Friday - one of the most beautiful I can remember in Atlanta in a long time! The fluffy, sticky, snowman, snowball type of snow! And judging by our back deck railing, it looked to be about 3-4 inches...a perfect amount. Philip and I got home from work a little early Friday (along with most everyone else in Atlanta) to play and snap some fun pictures of the snow..and of course Hunter was right there with us - loving every minute of it! It was our first real snow in our home...and at 31 weeks, I guess it was unofficially Kinsley's first snow as well! : ) We spent the rest of the evening watching movies by the fire...what a wonderfully relaxing Friday night!

6 Years Married & 30 Weeks Pregnant!

This was a big week of small milestones! On Sunday, Philip and I celebrated 6 blissful years of marriage. Blissful, challenging, fun, exciting, memorable, ups, downs, moving away, moving back, job changes, 4 houses...that's our marriage! And while it's not always perfect, it's perfect for us! We have had a lot of experiences in our 6 years of marriage and 9 years of being together. Who would have known all that would lie ahead of us when we said "I do" in 2004! Hard to believe that it's 2010 now, and we have lived in 3 different states, now on our 4th house (one we plan to be in for a long time to come), taking the biggest risk 3 1/2 years ago by moving to MS and the incredible, marriage-strengthening memories that we made while down there...and then the blessing we received when we decided to move back HOME to Atlanta. We made a choice to hold-off on starting a family until we moved back to Atlanta, and now here we are...so happy to be surrounded by family and friends in our hometown, and celebrating 6 past years of just the 2 of us (plus Hunter!), now expecting our beloved #3...we're starting our family in nearly two short months. So here's to half a dozen wonderful years with my hubby, my best friend, and my partner in the parenthood journey to come...I love you!

This week also marked Kinsley's leap from the 20's to the 30's! We hit the 30-week mark today, and we had another great routine OB check-up to "celebrate" yesterday! We are both moving right along! Hunter and I went over to eat a yummy dinner (and play with Pal) at Dan and Ang's last night since Philip was out of town with work, and my mom snapped some updated belly shots of me! Look out, waistline - Kinsley is growing bigger every day and it shows!!!
