Happy 4th Birthday Kinsley!

I can't believe our first-born is four years old!  Our girl who is the light of our house, and her little brother's hero, a friend to so many, exuding kindness and empathy to others.  We are constantly talking about being kind to others and making sure that everyone has someone to play with on the playground, and she is turning words into actions.  She is a bright, social, active, happy, inquisitive little girl.  We are so blessed.  A couple of things:
  • we had her 4-yr-check-up today, and she is doing great (except for the fever that she's been running off and on for the past two days)
  • she passed her vision and hearing tests
  • weight is in 50th percentile (37.5 lbs) and height is 75th percentile (41.25")
  • she is wearing size 5T in tops and 4T in bottoms, and is moving into a size 9.5 / 10 toddler shoe
  • we recently moved her into a big-girl booster seat in the car, pink and girlie pattern just for her
  • she loves the movie FROZEN and the music that accompanies it
  • she loves playing pretend / make-believe, singing, making-up songs, doing mommy's hair, getting herself dressed, dancing (she has been in tap & ballet since September and has her first recital in May!), playing outside & at the park.
  • she LOVES the water, visiting the indoor pool at Marist a few times over the winter - she is still the same water-bug she was last summer!
  • still loves Disney and PBS…Curious George, Clifford, Martha Speaks, Sid the Science Kid, Sherrif Callie, Sofia the First, Octonauts, Henry Hugglemonster & Doc McStuffins.
  • she can trace really well, can almost write her full first name, knows her numbers, letters, colors, and shapes and is just smart at remembering random things
  • she is doing great in school and is making LOTS of friends.
  • she is a social butterfly who is contrantly testing her boundaries with her mommy and daddy, but I love that sweet, stubborn spirit (cause it reminds me of myself)
  • up next: we are going to try out gymnastics classes, starting this Saturday or next Saturday to see how she likes it
It was a Happy 4th Birthday indeed.  And we had a little celebration fit for a princess.  On Saturday, March 8th, Kinsley and four of her other 3-4 year old girlfriends (2 girls that she has known since she was a baby and two girls from school) took a Cinderella Princess Carriage Ride through downtown Atlanta with their dad's escorting them as the "Prince Charmings."  It was a night to remember!  And the even better part?  We left the next morning to continue the celebration at Amelia Island for Birthday Round II (to be continued in the next blog post)!

Happy birthday sweet Kinsley!!!
