Hello 2014! (A little bit late)…and Carter's almost 18 months?!?!

Sooo, January was a bit of a blur - it was so busy, I could never quite catch-up.  And now, here it is, February, and I am just sitting down to capture all of the memories!

The biggest news around here since our last post is that Carter started walking at the end of January!  Just a few weeks shy of turning 16 months.  He was a little late, but was use taking his time, and he has the whole walking thing down pat now!  He turned 15 months on 1/1/14 and then 16 months just recently on 2/1/14.  He is a big healthy, growing boy who is now firing on all cylinders, now that he is walking.  He loves:
  • Anything that his sister has, he wants it…or anything that she is doing, he wants to do it too.
  • Saying "uh oh!"
  • Still drinking 3 bottles a day at 8oz of Organic milk each time - I know, I should start moving him away from the bottles, but whatever - he loves them and I will…eventually.
  • Food, specifically blueberries, strawberries, avocado, Cheese Puffs, baby goldfish, anything sweet, yogurt, buttered toast, bananas (sometimes whole vs chopped up), Cheerios, squeezable food pouches (esp. apple sauce, just like his big sister)…
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, especially the Hot Dog Song at the end - he bounces his fists and legs to the beat when it comes on!
  • George (as in Curious George - see, just like his sister!)
  • Talking - non stop!  Although most is baby babble gibberish just like Kinsley when she was this age, he is saying some words: Dada, Mama...
[INSERT SIGH HERE]  Okaaaay - it is now MARCH…March 24th to be exact.  Philip is traveling tonight and I am DETERMINED to catch up on this blog posting stuff.  I JUST now posted photos from Christmas.  Seriously.

Okay, so where was I…you know, waaay back in February, when I was typing in the information above…

Sooo, Carter is now approaching 18 months…what?????  When did he turn 1 1/2?   The bigger question?  When did Kinsley turn 4?  FOUR????  Where is the time going?  That is why I need to capture these memories.  They are FLYING by too quickly!  So first, let me finish the Carter update:
  • Carter-boy will be 18 months on 4/1/14…that's 6 months away from turning 2!?!?
  • he will have a doctors appt coming up soon for his 18 month, but let me tell you, he should get high marks for the height and weight and head circumference categories.  he is one big boy.
  • we turned his car seat around two weeks ago, just before our long trip to Amelia Island for Winter Break.  We simultaneously put Kinsley into a big-girl booster seat.
  • my nicknames for him: lil' monkey, boo-boo, lil' boo, pistol, buddy
  • dancing in his carseat to "Happy" by Pharrel Williams
  • words said these days by Carter: uhh-ohh! (and he will repeat this over and over until you acknowledge whatever he thinks is wrong!), ohhh-nooo!, mama, dada, papa, beh-beh (beebe), baba (bottle), may-may, pop,  shoes, socks, george, tis-tee (stands for both Kinsley and sister), boo-boo, tun-turr (Hunter), ball, chew-oes (cheerios), dah! (said while pointing)
  • he can point to the following on command: all of the people/things listed above, his nose, eyes, ears, bellybutton, mouth, hands, fingers, toes and feet
  • he loves being tickled, closing doors, turning on and off lights, splashing and making a mess during bath time, going 90 MPH all the time, climbing on furniture, playing in Hunter's water bowl, balls, cars / trucks, taking things fron his big sister, remote controls/ phones/pretty much anything with buttons, running and walking everywhere - but he loves being picked-up, cuddled and held equally as much!
  • he is all boy, but can be super snuggly as well
  • my favorite time of day with him is at night just after his bottle when we cuddle in the rocking chair just before I put him to bed.
  • he sleeps and naps like a champ - puts himself to sleep and goes for about 11 hours at night…but geez, he is an EARLY-riser!
  • he is wearing 24 months  / 2T in clothes and a size 6 toddler shoe!
Now, Miss Kinsley - well, her 4th birthday deserves its own blog post…to be continued!!!
